On 28 August 1965, the Australian Inland Mission opened the Andamooka hospital and began delivering life-saving medical care for local residents of the isolated mining town. Sixteen years later, Mrs. Diane Bilka would take up the mantle and serve as a resident nurse for 40 years.

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Diane Bilka on being recognised with the Order of Australia for her decades of service to nursing, encompassing her more than 30 years with Frontier Services 🎖️

We are currently facing a double emergency with floods in the Kimberley and fires in southern Western Australia. Our Bush Chaplains in the region are keeping a watch on the emerging crises and will provide updates as the situation unfolds.

Almost all of our Bush Chaplains gathered under one roof to talk about mental health this morning in Sydney. So much expertise, so much compassion and a want to do even more for people and communities in the bush.

Last Saturday 29/10/22 - we had another GOBBQ event! This time at Henley-Fulham UC congregation, with Sunny K as the guest speaker. The congregation worked hard and raised $2200 from the BBQ and selling items such as crafts, plants, etc🎨🌺.

Once again our official mobility partner, the NRMA team has made a difference to someone's farm! This time, the volunteers went down to help Pete and Jane who run a dairy farm and moments like these are why a community like this is so important to have!

Rhonda is back on her bike after battling through back-to-back disasters. Two of our volunteers went down to lend a hand on their 2,000-acre property, where they run Hereford cattle and Merino sheep. Rhonda described the difference our volunteers made as transformative!

It's National Water Week!💦 This week is dedicated to raising community awareness about current and future water issues such as droughts taking place and having a huge effect on farmlands and towns like Oodnadatta, as well as the people, and animals.

Calling for volunteers!!! We are looking for people to help out in Lightning Ridge, NSW from the first week of November.

They would appreciate help from anyone who is available and who can climb up ladders to clean out guttering without the risk of falling.
