FDC &UMST management and staff visited the survivors at Impinganzima, where they interacted with the widows and were pleased to find them in good condition. They offered them comfort and encouragement.

The Director of Impinganzima, together with one of the mothers representing the others, explained the history of the institution. They stated that Impinganzima is a home for elderly mothers who were left isolated and vulnerable after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and they expressed gratitude to the Government of Rwanda for supporting and caring for them.

The staff member from MINUBUMWE in charge of the Ntarama Genocide Memorial explained the painful history of the divisive political ideology that led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, as well as the horrific atrocities faced by the Tutsi who had sought refuge in the church.

On this Friday, 22nd May 2026, the Management and Staff of UMST and FDC commemorated the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at the Ntarama Genocide Memorial.

At the memorial site, we witnessed the horrific atrocities endured by the Tutsi, and paid tribute and respect to those laid to rest there.
