@EPHELI_ @MGR_Chille Nope, the NAND alone in a 64GB cart is pretty much $15-$20's & it's closer to $30's to actually produce the game carts. It's not inflated, if anything Nintendo seems to be willing to simply "wash their face" on producing the carts. Given the AI boom it's only likely to get worse.

I'm seeing multiple people claim that both Sony & MS are looking into cartridges of somekind for physical media. I'm not sure I buy the idea. Switch 2 cartridges cost nominally between $15-$20 usd to produce for 64gb, but actually are closer to $30 in some cases. Even... 1/2

@Sonnie_Slim Not really, they're choosing to end disc production. Given the ever increasing costs of NAND memory & the fact it has tge exact same downsides identified in their business case for ending disc production as well as being a more expensive medium tge rumour makes no sense.
