LotR version, every time. The RoP version gets a point for the long hair, but the costume design is a mess. The circlet looks like he put on one of Thranduil's discarded ones backwards. Too much gold, no accent colours. And wtf is that crossed lumpy belts thing over his chest? 🤔

@JennTristanD20 Yes! Exactly that. I've been trying to figure out what it was that grated so, and you've nailed it. They all look off styling-wise. And YES to the mid-budget 90s scifi/fantasy comparison!
(Skin colour or bearded/beardless? No issues with that. It's the style that's off.)
