If you're a zoomer, I think you have to make an important choice. You can live the rest of your life perpetually talking about yourself like you're in a movie, or you can choose to just do things and stop constantly looking at yourself in the mirror.

I want to be able to articulate this more clearly. I see this behavior everywhere. Everyone my age or younger, even people I like are driven by this nonstop neuroticism.

They have to qualify everything they say or do based on assumed perceptions. They physically cannot do things in real life without adjusting the activity to standards set by online perceptions. They can only morally reflect on things they do in the frame of how others talk about it.

It's supposed to be this hyper-individualist society but nobody can have agency beyond an overton window given to them by everyone else. It's like instead of God, ethics, laws governing a man, man is governed by clicks and replies.

I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing your life over the internet. But why on earth does everyone no longer experience life in such a way where they choose to do things? Why is agency delegated to a mass consciousness in your cellphone?

Live first, post about it later. Don't think about the theoretical future post WHILE you're living. You're somehow making your real life more artificial, an irl simulation. It's going to drive everyone insane someday.
