@norrlandsskenet A bit overdramatic xD But yes, in a way their view regarding germany is different due to the nature of the usa: less punishment after ww1, helping germany build out the economy, supporting the creation of a west-german state, marshall plan, supporting unifiication and so on

I think it's mostly because the usa is a powerful nation. They don't look at germany with resentment, fear etc. Might be our only true friends.

If one looks at the matter entirely objectively, the country to which Germany 🇩🇪 owes the most is not a European country, but first and foremost the USA 🇺🇸 .

Germany attacked them, but:
- they freed us
- they allowed us to form a new country, against the will of 🇫🇷
- they enabled us to become rich again (Marshall Fund), while our European neighbors asked for the due reparations
- they allowed us to reunite in 1990 against the resistance of 🇬🇧🇫🇷
- they defeated our fiercest enemy the USSR
- they had boots on the ground to protect us from 1949 until today. Germany saved massive amounts of money thanks to brave U.S. soldiers and millions of tons of equipment financed by the American taxpayer.

We love our European neighbors and we promise to protect them, but historically the Americans are the reason why Germany is free, sovereign and rich today.

We should not forget this.

@kroketrendang4 ideally, Kaliningrad should be given to the amish and mennonites. They should create their own state there, a lot are likely also descendants from prussia (mennonites) and the development of such a state would be kind of interesting to observe.

@norrlandsskenet @PrussianKalisch It's just that we are too big for Europe. That has historically always been the issue and is one reason why they wanted to split us up. The Euro implementation was primarily done because France feared the german Bundesbank becoming "too powerful".

@FalkTG Yes. The usa is the biggest reason why we are a sovereign country. I'am a bit biased because my dad is a west-extremist but the united states is the only country I would consider an actual friend (now and historically) and a great partner.
