Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. What does this mean? Today is a day to celebrate trans people and raise awareness for the ongoing discrimination they face. A day to uplift people’s voices and listen thoughtfully. (1)

The name change process for trans Marylanders shouldn’t be arduous or antiquated. However, when it comes to marriage certificates - it is.

Many have been told, that to change their name on a marriage certificate, they must get divorced and remarried.

HB 369 would change that.
