The aimless wanderings of @Fuchsiarius when I’m away from The Fuchsietum | A Garden in Portland. Formerly Fuchsias in the City. Now in The City of Fuchsias.
This account has been in abeyance for the last 18 months after my transcontinental move as I figured out what to do. Originally spun off from Fuchsias in the City, posts were about NYC, a.k.a. Scene in the City. Stay tuned now for new weirdnesses From Beyond the Fuchsia Horizon!
Scene out shopping. Putting a stack of family size beef jerky on sale in front of the dog food aisles is maybe sending mixed signals. Yum, yum. Arf, arf.

Godzilla Minus One has broken many box office records in its opening weekend. While many believe Ishirō Honda based his monster on a dinosaur, the horrific beast was really modeled on the eastern grey squirrel, Sciurus caroliniensis. Note the obvious similarities in form & habit.
Other English-speaking countries often have some interesting idiosyncrasies flavoring the language. I half expected a flaming toaster to come popping out of one of these bays.
Wow! Can’t believe it! A fuchsia with a bright, clear yellow in the flowers has eluded hybridizers and here one of my fuchsias has simply taken up the challenge all on its own. It's sported the Holy Grail of Fuchsias. I think I'll call it Fuchsia 'Aprilscherz'. #FuchsiaFriday 😉
@cp53a That head on a platter thing is a common attribute of St. John the Baptist. And there’s a halo behind the head. Medusa belongs mounted on a shield and she wasn’t exactly a saint. I’m just a purist when it come to art history. 🤣
