Le Président de la République, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, et son homologue sud-africain, Cyril Ramaphosa, ont effectué une visite de travail consacrée au renforcement de la coopération dans la lutte contre l’épidémie d’Ebola. Le Ministre de la Santé Publique, Hygiène et Prévoyance Sociale, le Dr Roger Samuel Kamba, a pris part à cette importante séquence aux côtés des deux Chefs d’État.

Les échanges ont mis en avant la nécessité d’une riposte africaine coordonnée, fondée sur la coopération sanitaire transfrontalière, tout en soulignant l’impact de l’insécurité dans l’Est de la RDC sur la prévention, la surveillance épidémiologique et l’accès aux soins. Le Président Ramaphosa a plaidé pour un cessez-le-feu humanitaire, rappelant que la fermeture des frontières ne constitue pas une réponse appropriée.

La délégation a ensuite visité l’Institut national de recherche biomédicale (INRB), où ont été présentés les dispositifs de détection et de riposte contre Ebola. Cette visite a permis de mettre en lumière les capacités scientifiques et techniques de la RDC ainsi que l’importance du partenariat entre les États africains pour renforcer la sécurité sanitaire du continent.

DR Congo Reaffirms Commitment to Justice After Filing ICJ Case Against Rwanda

The Democratic Republic of Congo says its decision to file a case against Rwanda before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is an exercise of its rights under international law and a commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful legal means.

Kinshasa is asking the Court to examine alleged violations of several international treaties, including the Genocide Convention, the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention Against Torture.

The Congolese government says the application sets out the legal and factual basis for its claims and requests the Court to determine whether Rwanda bears international responsibility for the alleged violations.

The DRC also reaffirmed its confidence in international justice, stating that it will fully respect the ICJ proceedings while continuing to defend the interests of the Congolese state and the rights of victims through legal channels.
