Finally UK petrol prices are starting to drop.

Since the start of yesterday 1,105 stations dropped prices of unleaded compared to 240 that put prices up.

Shell lead the way in terms of forecourts, but they are dropping from an already high starting point.

@asda seem to be the first supermarket to make a big move with prices dropping at a third of their pumps. They also now have the lowest average price across all of the supermarkets. Maybe we will see a move from @Morrisons @Tesco & @sainsburys today

Finally a day where slightly more forecourts dropped their petrol prices than raised them.

Hopefully the start of a downward trend.

Petrol prices peaking in the UK?

Yesterday unleaded prices went up at 667 forecourts, that is the lowest daily number in the past month.

Prices dropped at 126, not great but maybe we are on the cusp of a day where prices actually go down a little bit.

Surely one of the supermarkets will announce a small cut in time for the weekend?

@JohnCon72636524 Since yesterday there have been 205 petrol stations that have dropped their price of unleaded a bit.

Sadly 1,683 have put their prices up even more.

@Steven_Swinford Prices are being cut at some forecourts today, but still going up at more of them. Can't imagine there being too many cuts with oil price heading back up now sadly

@DarrenPlymouth So far the response at the pump has been mainly to keep putting the prices up further.

Some have dropped the prices, but lots have continued upwards.

@alexbcann The good news is that the pump price has actually dropped at 136 forecourts today. Just a shame about the 1,234 that have put the price up some more.
