My take on money match culture (that no one asked for)

If you ONLY accept mm's and not friendlies, that's kinda cringe. However having 1 dedicated mm setup out of like 30+ friendly stations shouldn't be a big deal either

If you're a top player, playing friendlies with people is a W for the community and encourages people to keep coming back. It's also one of the things that makes Smash and the FGC feel more grassroots then say a League or CS tournament

Cause unlike those, you can literally just walk up to your favorite players and start talking to them or ask them to play

The in person interaction is a huge part of what makes our community feel special. Keeping that alive and contributing towards it is a win win for everyone imo
