How is it possible to charge #Catalonia’s politicians for rebellion? Rebellion is a violent uprising, but #1oct referendum was about people wanting to vote peacefully. Only #Spain authorized violence that day, when #GuardiaCivil beat voters. Disgraceful! https://t.co/BNKsFIiSXp
Catalonia offers dialogue and this is what they get in return. As a strong supporter of political liberties it feels absurd, that #Spain is doing everything possible to block @KRLS candidacy. How is this possible in Europe? #Catalonia https://t.co/CL9jcDXqQs
A clear demonstration of complete lack of respect for the outcome of the Catalan elections. Moreover, political issues can NOT be settled by judges in courts! This is a blatant abuse of ‘rule of law’ and this will finally undermine democracy! Don’t you understand that @ppopular ? https://t.co/jDykBlhKJa
@CuestaMonica@MagniArge The purpose of the meeting between the Catalan separatist leader Carles Puigdemont and members of the parliament was that the Danish politicians would become wiser about the situation in the Spanish region.
It succeeded, says the Faroese parliamentary member @MagniArge
.@KRLS is not a fugitive. When he traveled to Belgium he did so as a free man. When Spain issued the arrest warrant he cooperated fully with Belgian authorities. Spain withdrew it because extradition would have been rejected/restricted due to the over-the-top rebellion charges.
The Spanish government will “take all kind of measures and decisions” in order to stop Carles Puigdemont from being sworn in as president of #Catalonia again, says #Spain's vice president, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría.

@EU_Commission@JunckerEU @TimmermansEU I wish you had half a heart and complied with your own words. But you're as arrogant and liar as any fascist with power can be. I hope before your last day comes you get to see how wrong you've been all along.

'Imagine a husband gets home to find his wife& she says "I want a divorce, I'm fed up with it"
He goes "Who do you think you are? You're gonna lose your pension! the car! the holiday house!"

Tomorrow the Catalan public broadcaster @tv3cat airs a documentary about the #CatalanReferendum. It's difficult to forget how millions of people stood up against the Spanish govt's repression and defended #democracy in #Catalonia on #1O.
An elderly man crafted a Christmas gift for a jailed Catalan minister... it was returned smashed with a message saying "Viva España"

I thought using the army against your own people was against international law, but apparently Spain was willing to cross this big red line to keep #Catalonia inside Spain 😱 https://t.co/QWb8sRENGS
@jurgenvontopfer Worth noting that Spain had to withdraw the euro-order to extradite the President, who is accused of the same charges but in exile in Belgium, because they got clues that Belgium was going to dismiss the case.
What Spain is doing here is not justice; it's called revenge!
