We have 2 regional primary hubs in May:
๐ซ 21st at @fulbridge_acad (East England)
๐ซ 23rd at @StPaulsBolton (North West)
Both are a chance to see a great school in action, network with peers and share/learn practice at table sessions. FREE for members, guests welcome. DM for info
Great food for thought from @MichaelRosenYes about our approach to teaching reading; validating the childrenโs individual interpretations and balancing this with the explicit comprehension skills required. #GOE2019
Hugely inspirational to hear @MichaelRosenYes talk about what we talk about when we talk about books! โReading makes sense to us according to who we are, and our experiencesโ #GOE2019
So inspiring to hear @MaryMyatt speaking about curriculum at tonightโs staff meeting. Teach less, well. Provide high challenge with low stakes. Engage children with authentic, high quality material and THEY will do the learning. Let them TALK @fulbridge_acad#letmetellyouastory
๐HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY BOOKWORMS! ๐
Are we all ready for the BEST celebration of all things books and reading? From breakfast to bedtime, let us know how you'll be sharing a story today using the #ShareAStory & #WorldBookDay hashtags. ๐๐
Oracy Expectations 2019 video is here!
We are very proud of the way the children talk at Fulbridge. This is often recognised by visitors and guests to our school too.
To remind us of our expectations, we have... https://t.co/1EN8JQJxqX
Every day throughout December we have a different teacher from across school reading a Christmas story for all our pupils to enjoy during their daily storytime slot. Yesterday was the turn of @emilybass8585 reading The Dinosaur Who Pooped Christmas!
Yesterday we held our โbedtime storiesโ event for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 pupils. The children got cosy whilst having stories such as โSuddenlyโ, โDo Not Open This Bookโ and โThe Book With No Picturesโ read to them. It was a lovely way to spend a chilly Friday afternoon!
Reception were so excited to read your new book today, for many children their first question as they came into school was โhas Grandma Bird arrived?!โ @Benji_Davies
Our year 1โs have been practicing recounting a Wacky Wednesday yesterday using different talk partners to focus on fluency and clarity in their speaking. #oracy
