Satan is the carnal mind. It is the natural bent of man without the Spirit of God transforming him. That's why the garden failed because it was based on external rules. Don't eat from this tree, only that one. How could a dichotomous decision like that even amount to love and trust one way or the other? Obedience without understanding doesn't produce love. It was a display of love you can only learn the hard way 😉. Trust only comes from actually knowing God and you can only do that by God's own mercy and Spirit.

@TheApe_Theist True, but faith is an unseen substance operating on a Spirit level. You can't actually use reason to create faith. You can reason about the details OF the faith but faith itself is not self generated.

@sola_chad No, I am taught of God. We are supposed to fellowship and learn from one another but not in a hierarchical context. That has all passed away.
