@The_TomMoody @mortgagedaddy @samk_harris You still do not address the matter at hand. Your value judgement is prejudiced against a class of people seeking recognition and acceptance for who they are.
@The_TomMoody @mortgagedaddy @samk_harris I do not dismiss, denigrate nor harass anyone for their religious beliefs. I do not respect anyone who spouts hatred. A person can have my respect for their right to practice and simultaneously have my disdain for their words and actions. That is tolerance.
@The_TomMoody @mortgagedaddy @samk_harris Your opinion does not determine what is sensible or validating to anyone else. You may disagree with new gender pronoun usage, but it doesn’t change the value those who use new pronouns derive from using them. Your argument is about approval not accommodation.
@The_TomMoody @mortgagedaddy @samk_harris The danger with your statement is that any religion is subject to mockery based upon your interpretation. Your negative bias towards a religion does not entitle you to decide whether it is religion or not. Disliking it doesn’t change what it is.
@Itwaswritten87 @KryptusAurelius@marti_nita @samk_harris And we do need change our language with newly made-up terms for athletes of his stature constantly. He’s a golden glove. He’s considered a goat. There are linguistic accommodations granted to athletes because society reveres them. It is granted without the athletes request.
@Itwaswritten87 @KryptusAurelius@marti_nita @samk_harris No he doesn’t need to because he is granted perpetual external validation by society without fail. And people who don’t care for or about sports are reminded of his status despite not caring to know or wanting to know.
@The_TomMoody @mortgagedaddy @samk_harris It is never ok to mock any religion. Disputing false science is always appropriate. They are in no way similar or related.
@thayjtj @samk_harris Go back and read the original thread. Samantha Harris was ridiculing a conversation that had gender and racial sensitivity matters in discussion. She belittled all of the parties in the conversation, which she was not party to. Samantha is an attorney and should know better.
@TheMopingOwl @samk_harris You obviously don’t know anyone who has chosen to express their identity as other than male or female. There’s no narcissism there, it’s brutal and honest introspection in the face of a world filled with hatred for their choice to be who and what they want to be.
@The_TomMoody @samk_harris Your points deserve nothing better. You are comparing the efforts of those seeking identity recognition with Hitler. What else is there to say?
@Skwirlwonkenobi @samk_harris Slow your roll. You are taking sides with a woman who maligned third parties with anti LGBTQ hate speech regarding their self identity preferences. You may want to pause to reflect before doubling down further. Twitter is forever.
@KryptusAurelius@marti_nita @samk_harris Ok, metaphors then. Derek Jeter was a baseball player. Why do we need to define him any further than that? But he was more. He was a Yankee. He was a shortstop. He was a captain. He was a golden glove. And so on. So why don’t we just refer to him as just a baseball player?
@mortgagedaddy @samk_harris Jeff. You are defending the hate speech of a stranger. Her intention was malignant, discriminatory and disdainful of LGBTQ gender identity. You are now calling me fascist. You need to think about what you say next because the internet is forever.
@mortgagedaddy @The_TomMoody @samk_harris So Jeff. You think a guy who compares people seeking recognition of their gender identity to hitler, and who attacks a religion, and sums up his point saying it’s “stupid” is in need of your anonymous defense? Why? What thing is he saying that you so strongly identify with?
@ThomasJDudleyII @samk_harris This won’t age well Tom. You are angered by people who you have nothing to do with. Whose presence has no bearing on your life. You need to think about where your hate comes from.
