It is open until Sunday 7th of July 2024 to designers from the #MENA region, to develop practical solutions that address today’s most pressing issues facing #nature and biodiversity.
On 18 Dec. 1973 the General Assembly of the #UnitedNations declared #Arabic an official language of the UN. Since 2012, this day has been celebrated as World #Arabic#LanguageDay. This year's theme is: "Arabic - the Language of Poetry and the Arts"🙌.
The award aims to strengthen the presence of the Arabic language and culture globally as a bridge for intercultural dialogue.

#Dioscorides is the other name of the book "De Materia Medica", written by the eponymous physician and botanist Dioscorides (c. 40).
It is a basic treatise on medicinal plants and #pharmacopoeia that was very influential until the 17th century.📖
The ulema and physician Ibn Ŷulŷul (d. 994) narrates how the #Andalusians were not able to understand the work completely, as there were parts where the translator either did not know the Arabic name of the plant, or did not know to which plant the original name corresponded. 🌱
