🏅 Funck Doubles Up at States!!! 🏅
Annville-Cleona senior Oliver Funck will leave Shippensburg with two state medals, capping off a tremendous high school career before heading to Temple University.
One day after placing 6th in the AA boys 1600m with a time of 4:16.70, Funck came back in the 3200m and battled through the cold rain to earn another 6th-place finish.
His time of 9:22.60 was his best of the season by more than six seconds!!!
That kind of performance says plenty about the Dutchmen senior, who laid the hammer down throughout championship season and showed his true mettle when the conditions were at their toughest.
Special thanks to Matthew & Hockley Associates for sponsoring this post and for their support of our local athletes.
Congratulations, Ollie! 🏅

🏅 Funck Closes Strong to Earn State Medal 🏅
Congratulations to Annville-Cleona senior Oliver Funck, who delivered a huge performance Friday at the 2026 PIAA State Track & Field Championships!
Racing in the AA boys 1600m, Funck improved his personal best by .33 seconds, crossing the line in 4:16.70 to finish 6th in Pennsylvania.
It was a smart, strategic race from the Dutchmen standout, who opened with a 2:10 through the first 800m before closing strong in 2:06 over the final half of the race.
With one individual State medal already secured, Funck will look to add another on Saturday when he toes the line for the 3200m.
Special thanks to Matthew & Hockley Associates for sponsoring this post and for their support of our local athletes.
Congrats, Ollie! 🏅

Fun fact for Central PA wrestling fans, @piaadistrict3 had more wrestlers competing at this year's NCAA Championships than 12 of the 35 states represented
I caught up with some of the local guys in Cleveland to see how their PA roots prepared them for these opportunities
@FOX43
@Mitch_Rupert Too much at once. Semis deserve better.
Also AA wrestling a consi round after the semis that aren’t consi semis is ridiculous. Kids weighed in at 7 this morning and are wrestling a round after 10 pm that could have been wrestled earlier.
Join us in wishing our incredible wrestlers the best of luck at Regionals this weekend! We’re so proud of the hard work you’ve put in. Go get ‘em! 🤼♂️
Congratulations to Oliver Funck, and Madison Long on being selected as Rotary Students of the Month for January!
Your hard work, character, and commitment to excellence truly stand out. We’re proud of you—well deserved!
