Today marks the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) in 1920 –at one point the largest communist party outside of China and the USSR. The PKI was brutally wiped out during the US-led Cold War anti-communist frenzy. Top-secret CIA reports described the killings as one of the worst mass murders of the 20th century.
