So I’ve talked to a number of people with knowledge of this situation and accounts vary so I’ll keep it down the middle.
1. As of August 1st, there has not been one written offer sheet submitted to Micah’s agent. Nothing.
2. Numbers were discussed as it related to what Micah Parsons felt his value was during a meeting that Jerry called to discuss his leadership role. It’s unclear who prompted that. One side said Micah did, the other said Jerry did.
3. That meeting lasted about 2-3 hours.
4. Jerry felt good about the negotiation but once Micah got his agent involved. The agent allegedly said they would not be discussing a contract until all the other edge rushers deals were complete. Another tells me that’s inaccurate his agent has been trying to talk since last year.
5. Calls to the FO this summer have not been returned.
6. It was insinuated that if Micah didn’t get a deal done that a trade was a possibility.
7. Micah didn’t take this decision lightly and is prepared for the fallout but ultimately I’m told he feels “disrespected” and they tried to take advantage of him in the negotiation process.
8. Micah remains at camp and will continue to remain there.
