A re-introduction??
I'm Funmi Sopade.
I do an exceptional job managing projects/programs targeted at youth empowerment and career development, shaping health policy and advocacy, leadership development and civic engagement.
I'm also a 3rd year medical student at OAU. #greatife
I too want to write an end of year essay or make a reel or even find the most meaningful photos to mark the year but all I can think is, “I’m so tired.”
A fire engulfed a building in Lagos State 6 days ago. The name of the building is Nigeria House building in Lagos.
As I write this tweet,
There are human beings trapped inside the rubble of the collapsed building.
FOR 6 WHOLE DAYS.
The Nigerian Media is silent.
The Nigerian Government is doing nothing.
THERE ARE PEOPLE TRAPPED IN A COLLAPSED BUILDING IN LAGOS FOR 6 DAYS.
Please kindly lend your voice!!!!
Let us not watch these people die!!!!
And that’s a wrap! Two days of learning, creativity, and bold steps.
Grateful to our participants, amazing facilitators, and everyone who supported this vision. 🤍
@beboldbydesign is about growth, impact and showing up boldly.
This is just the beginning.🥂
Yesterday, we watered the ground and today we’re ready to sow the seed of the word in it.
We are eager to receive the word with joy!

God called us together for a feast and guess who came hungry? The New! 🔥
We came with a heart desperate for a touch, a hunger for the word and we received it.
And that’s not even all!
This was The Feast Day 1 and it was all things good and beautiful.

Happy International Day of Persons Living With Disabilities.
I hosted a panel and asked questions. It’s the right of every PWD to live in a society that’s inclusive and accessible.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but: Love shows up. If someone loves you they show you in many ways. Small ways, big ways, average ways but they show up. They answer. They are there when you need them.
as someone who struggles to ask for help, acts of service is really up there for me. having someone who willingly tends to you without you asking, someone who quietly does things for you because they want to. to be considered is the greatest measure of care.
Resident Doctors on strike
Joint Health Workers on strike
ASUU ;Universities to be shut down on Friday.
LAUTECH medical students have been out of school for over 110 days
A nation with no regard for Healthcare and Education.
Nigerians
Just to remind you.
Resident Doctors all over Nigeria are still on strike.
The pillar of the workforce of the Healthcare system in Nigeria is currently on shut down.
The work horse that powers the turbines of Medicine in Nigeria has been halted for the past 18 days.
Healthcare in Nigeria has been at an all level nadir for the past 18 days because the ATP (Resident Doctors) of the Healthcare system has been burnt out and The Nigerian Government wants to continue to overflog a flabby fatigued mitochondria .
During these period, lot of Nigerians have probably been harmed.
Families must have lost lots of loved ones due to the failure of the Nigerian government to give the Resident Doctors a listening ear.
You should join in the fight of the Resident Doctors and call on stakeholders all over the country.
You deserve better as a Nigerian.
You deserve optimal Healthcare.
It is a basic necessity
Raise your voice.
Any country where the Resident Doctors are on strike and government doesn't avert and listen to their demands in the slightest second is an unserious system.
Your Doctors have been on strike for 18 days!!!
18 days of loss of innocent lives.
Stand with Nigerian Doctors today and fight with them!!!
I’ve been watching the #ResidentDoctors strike and we all need to lend our voice. For over two weeks, NARD doctors have withdrawn their services — and the government still hasn’t fully answered.
These aren’t petty demands. NARD says N38 billion is owed in unpaid salaries and allowances. Resident doctors are the backbone of public hospitals — yet their welfare keeps being ignored.
According to NARD, only 2 of 19 demands have received “progress.”
At UCH (Ibadan) — a premier teaching hospital — resident doctors have fully complied. Consultants are trying to manage, but it’s not a sustainable solution.
These doctors are not striking to be difficult. They’re striking because conditions are untenable: low pay, high work pressure, no long-term security.
The president has now directed the Health Ministry to act, but NARD insists their 19-point demand must be fully met. Partial payouts or half-measures won’t cut it.
As someone who cares about long-term sustainability, I know this matters: A broken health system isn’t just a loss for doctors — it’s a loss for all of us.
@nard_nigeria deserves more than lip service. They deserve real, lasting reform. This is not just a strike — it’s a fight for justice, dignity, and healthcare for every Nigerian.
I’m calling on fellow Nigerians, public servants, and every leader who can influence this: Stand with them. Amplify their voice. Push for a resolution that lasts, not a band-aid fix.
To @nard_nigeria — your cause matters..
We stand with you.
Please, don't ever say no. Don't say you don't have questions. Firstly, most of the time, we want to know how curious you are (a good trait), and sometimes, we want to give you a chance to own the interview room.
Ask about:
- The Team and Culture
- Growth and Development in the coy.
- Values & Work-Life (you must have done a bit of research here, too)
- Expectations and Fit
Quick last questions could be:
1. What’s the next step in the interview process?
2. When do you expect to make a decision for this role?
3. What do you personally enjoy most about working here?
Hope this helps.
They include you in their plans.
They actually text back and keep the conversation going.
They tell you what they’re up to because they want you in their day.
They check in when they haven’t heard from you in a bit.
They remember the things you like.
They notice your mood and ask if you’re okay.
They make time for you even when they’re busy.
You don’t have to guess how they feel, you can just tell.
They show up, stay consistent, and make you feel wanted.
