@mudgen @StittsHappening Am I missing some high level sarcasm? Cause otherwise this needs more explanation. I don't see burn out occurring with folks that have 30 hour work weeks with time for family, hobbies, and self-care.
@RBReich From Politifact "...historians agree that the filibuster was closely intertwined with anti-civil-rights efforts in the Senate for more than a century, thanks to repeated efforts by southern senators to filibuster civil rights bills."
@ZubyMusic@ChrisKnight407@maxkeiser No, the justice system that arrests, convicts, and dishes out longer sentences for black people vs whites in America is to blame. This is all cogently laid out in "The new Jim Crow" by Michelle Alexander.
@MForwardT@ZubyMusic@maxkeiser THIS. It's not about a single crime, but instead statistics over a population. Black people are arrested more and incarcerated longer for the same crimes as non-blacks.
@DJJinxman@RobSchneider You are explaining my argument again. Broad, blanket statements about trading freedom for safety always being bad go against the statement you just made. Your job as an LEO is dependent on the fact that trading freedom, like murdering whomever you want, for security can be good.
@DJJinxman@RobSchneider What you just said is why a blanket statement like "trading freedom for safety = bad" cannot be applied to all freedom/safety tradeoffs. You are giving up the freedom to drive how you want for the safety of rules/regulation that can be counted on.
@DJJinxman@RobSchneider Ok, I'll bite. What agency in the US does? Or is this standard Facebook Boomer Brain fear mongering at work. We are not China, my dude.
@JoelDongsteen What about when the foot prints disappeared and there was just something dragging for like a mile? "That was when your dick was carrying you."
