Feverish few days. Thank you for all of it. Some of the best conversations I've had about this project have happened behind the scenes this week, and a few of them are going to turn into real things. Also worth saying plainly: nobody should be sizing into Satari with money they need. Collect what resonates, at a size you'd be fine forgetting about. I'd rather build this slowly with people who are here for the work. Grateful for you all.

This blew up. Added 21 pieces to the vault. Will do this again soon, but for now... some observations:

1. It's MAGICAL how this space connects people all over the world that would have never crossed paths otherwise.

2. There are so many amazing artists on Tezos and the prices are wildly out of sync with the talent and effort pouring in. A little XTZ goes a loooooong way.

3. Sharing process, or AT LEAST info about the backstory or notes about what feeling you are trying to transmit with it goes a LONG way. I swept @petersonsart's 'For No One' collection specifically because his process is unique AND he made effort to share what that process is.

4. So many artists I love either got started on Tezos or have released collections there. I can't help but feel like the foundation should/could do more to lift up artists who use their chain.

6. I've yet to release my own work on Tezos. I would like to at some point.

7. Most of the artists I minted from today have collected a massive amount of work from other artists on the platform. Some even have collected significantly more than they have released. I just love that.

Look through the original thread, follow an artist, share art you love, and mint a piece or two. 🤝

I’ve worked in design / a public-facing career long enough to know that there’s always a sub-culture that exists merely to “dunk on you” (I saw it as an illustrator trying to break my way into the scene and I see it now). No matter what you say, they show up to remind you that “you ain’t shit”. Especially when they decide something isn’t for them. These pot shots are easy to toss out (especially from a place of having “made it”) and they say more about tribalism than they do about a universal bent towards the proliferation of art of technology and its impact on the future.

But I’ll also say this: earnestly giving all of your might towards punching back and/or working to convince them won’t sway these folks. Neither will addressing them directly. (In a way, that’s the irony of even this tweet isn’t it?)

In fact, there’s a real possibility you may never convert some people to believing in the ideal future state of what you’re building. And that’s okay! What matters is working as hard as you fucking can on the things that you know matter. What matters is giving your all towards something — and caring deeply about the outcome. What matters is that there are people on the other end that you know matter deeply; that regardless of the odds or the pre-written narrative, know that this isn’t checkers — it’s chess.

No one is perfect, but I believe in what can be accomplished from those who care (even when it’s not cool to “care”) and what they can do with an activated community. No movement has existed separate from the people that drove it into existence. There is no one messiah that will deliver this space or any space — it’s in the collective efforts of those that are here, in working towards what they believe to be the next step for both art, technology, and the collective of all of humanity.

Every project won’t be for every one, but I firmly believe everyone can find someone somewhere they align with. Because that’s the beauty of crowd-sourcing, elevating, and highlighting the best thinkers here and abroad.

The whole of this space can win — if only we’re willing to allow the best of what this technology and this renaissance can enable to exist. You’re not just here because you’re crazy, you’re here because you saw something. Even when it looked wild, unlikely, and arguably “impossible”.

@NFT_GOD system overhaul needed. The "wild west" isn't a term of endearment it speaks to the expe that you will get screwed on average and hope for a 100x return is why you roll the dice. Half baked infrastructure means a sig. % of losses arent related to bad trades but exploits.
