Vrbo is more than doubling its commission for many hosts. From Oct 29, every host pays a flat 12%.

What hosts pay Vrbo today:
- 5% if connected through property-management software
- About 8% for everyone else
- An annual fee on the old subscription plan

From Oct 29, all three move to 12%.

Two more changes come with the new terms:

1. Rate parity. Your Vrbo price can be no higher than on any other channel, including your own website.

2. Guest fees, now 11-14%, are set to drop "drastically". Vrbo has not said by how much.

For a software-connected host, that is 2.4 times the commission on every Vrbo booking.

Vrbo took Sponsored Listings global on Sept 1. Hosts bid and pay per booked night. Pilot hosts: about 40% more bookings.

Airbnb fees 2026: most hosts now pay one host-only service fee of about 15.5%. Guests no longer see a separate Airbnb fee.

Outside Europe the switch was Sept 15. EEA hosts follow Oct 13.

Upside: simpler guest pricing. Check: your nightly rates, so your payout holds.
