Some actors become famous for one unforgettable character. Keith David somehow became unforgettable in almost every world he entered. 🎙️🔥

He gave Goliath the soul of a leader in Gargoyles, brought terrifying charisma to Dr. Facilier in The Princess and the Frog, and became the definitive animated Spawn for countless fans. What makes Keith David special isn’t simply that his voice is recognizable. It’s that every performance carries a different weight, whether he’s playing a hero, villain, commander, father, king, or exhausted bartender.

Remembering Christine Cavanaugh on what would've been her 63rd birthday this August.

Her career reminds us that you don’t need decades upon decades of work to become part of an entire generation’s childhood 🎙️

Throughout the 1990s, her unmistakable performances were everywhere. She originated Chuckie Finster in Rugrats, became Dexter in Dexter’s Laboratory, brought the wonderfully strange Oblina to life in Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, and played Gosalyn Mallard in Darkwing Duck. Then came one of her most surprising successes: voicing the title character in the beloved 1995 film Babe.

What makes Christine’s legacy remarkable is how much she accomplished before stepping away from acting in the early 2000s. Her characters were nervous, brilliant, mischievous, strange, brave and completely different from one another, yet each became instantly recognizable.

She passed away in 2014 at just 51, but the voices she left behind continue to live wherever those cartoons and films are rediscovered.

Christine Cavanaugh left the spotlight, but her voice never really left our childhoods. ❤️

I'm seeing a lot of doomposting about the new YouTube requirements. I am ALWAYS down to talk shop and share any knowledge or insight I have that would benefit other creators.

Here is my personal advice:

1. Do not get disheartened. I reinvented my channel several times and, each time, I had to take 3 steps back before taking 10 forward. I started focusing Dragon Ball and Pokémon, then I played mobile games...

It's not a steady upward climb. It's also very easy to write off the big channels who are already there but I started at 0 too.

2. Prioritize EVERGREEN longform content. Longform is the path to stability. Shorts are nice for fast growth but much harder to make a livable wage if you wanted to pursue this as a career. This is where I would put my energy.

3. Don't be afraid to reuse content. I cut together a few FOUR YEAR OLD Splatoon videos and added about 12 minutes of new footage. It did about 114K views in 3 weeks and pulled in 300 new subs. Don't edit something once and immediately throw it away. Reuse the same raw footage in multiple formats.

4. VARIETY IS HARD. Every time I branch out, to try a new series or add a new franchise, it's calculated. I try my best to take safe steps forward and see what my audience responds to. Listen to what is working and try to do more of that before experimenting. Theme your titles and thumbnails so you become more recognizable in recommended.

I never in a million years thought I would be where I am now, but I didn't quit when shit got tough.

You can do this.
