Demolishing the scrupulosity and radical obedience that has destroyed our divine mandate as Christians, through honest parable and thought experimentation.
I want you all to think about this when someone tells you "faith first"
Faith, Hope, Love
But the greatest of these, is love
Love is the format by which the others spring forth. I know that we can feel like our eyes have been opened, but it's because we see love, and want it.
@BishopBarron The sad thing is, no one cares anymore. Those screaming about life, which they are correct, are the same ones that sold away the ability for future generations to own homes, start families of their own, and have health insurance for the sake of portfolios
It screams hypocrisy
I'm being shadow banned because X doesn't like novel ideas, it only likes pre scripted socially accepted arguments that already exist...
Absolutely insane
@30MinMinistries False dichotomy based in scriptural references to combat Jewish Yom Kippur covenant maintenance based servitude.
This dichotomy is sinful and misses the mark entirely
@emperorbma@FrankLets78822 Yeah, but no matter what I say I can't fit it into a tiny amount of characters
If he wants answers and an interesting conversation, I'm game
But they never do, the questions seem rhetorical and leading, not actual curiosity
@mattvanswol We should talk
I'm actually writing a series of papers exactly for people like you
Because like it or not, we have been gaslit and lied to about things in the gospels
But that doesn't mean all is for naught
There is hope amongst the confusion
@joshwhitlatch Oh, you mean the guy that (while dying himself) stood up for Christ in front of jeering crowds and soldiers, risking furthering his own pain, to take a stand and bring comfort to the innocent?
That guy?
The one who gave literally everything he possibly could?
Huh...
@ShaneSchaetzel So... the holy family wasn't really a family and didn't follow your holy family rules?
I find that odd... saying "they never had sex" isn't the out you think it is
@FrankLets78822 The fact you posted this makes me want to have an intellectually interesting conversation with you, and tells me you might be open to it
Contextual reconstruction of intent in the writings of Paul and his theological premises to start, we can go from there
@lukei4655 Right, but the medical evidence that long term abstinence can cause issues with conception down the road isn't relevant to this conversation
Nor the sleepless lonlely nights endured by societal rejects, those secondary functions sure aren't there to help them at all...
@CatholicDrip___ I want to ask you, why you think this matters at all? Rome only made this ruling for political reasons in the first place. Judaizers were infiltrating the Church and threatening a schism so they made a ruling to placate
The winners then ran and threw it in everyone's faces
When the Church makes the mistake of creating traditions that placate the musings of religious zealots... it has the unfortunate consequence of creating many more of them in the future...
@Filipinofails@ShaneSchaetzel Do I? Huh, here I thought it was just a fun clever fox persona
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING seems to be sex with you
I know the tradition, I which means I ALSO studied what led to it
Which is why I'm comfortable laughing about how funny the tradition is
