@knotsramazing@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk @4n0n_d3v I don’t know much about farm dogs but I can totally see that. My point is that domesticated pets arent capable of self-governing, they aren’t autonomous enough and are too dependent to make truly autonomous decisions. This is a result of how they are raised and domestication.
“Will never leave you”
They really just saying the quiet part out loud now. They can’t leave, is it attractive to you that they are trapped and labeled as property? Is their lack of freedom and autonomy attractive? Is their lack of rights in society a turn on for you?
@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk @4n0n_d3v The very basic idea of it is basically that individuals weigh the costs and benefits of every option to choose the one that provides them with the most benefit.
It’s the ability to weigh costs/risks against benefit.
@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk @4n0n_d3v Rational choice is… rational choice. I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s a very basic concept that is covered in High School and a foundational concept to ethics, philosophy, and other social sciences in University. It’s complex, and I don’t have the space on X to elaborat
@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk @4n0n_d3v I just want to be completely clear with this. It is Roussil’s stance that rational choice is NOT a requirement for sexual intercourse?
@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk @4n0n_d3v Here’s the kicker though, dependency doesn’t jive with autonomy. Autonomy requires self-governance. In order to make autonomous decisions you need to understand the consequences (rational choice), and a choice is only free if it isn’t constrained by forced dependency/ ignorance.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk Bestiality and advocating for bestiality are both immense risks you take with little to no benefit for your animal. You don’t inform your animal of the risk and exploit their uninformed perceived enthusiasm for your own personal gain at the cost of their safety.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk Being on twitter advocating bestiality puts your animal at a wayyy higher risk. That is an unnecessary risk that can result in the death of your animal. The chances of a data breach, law enforcement investigation, or doxxing is statistically high. Yet people do it anyway.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk That’s your perspective. You’re making that judgement call for the animal. Theres never 100% secrecy. You have an ethical obligation to ensure your partner understands that there is a risk of death if they engage in intercourse with you. Withholding that is rape.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk But didn’t we just agree if there’s a risk it’s wrong? And now back to informed consent, the animal doesn’t understand the risk, it’s not an autonomous decision, it’s one you are making for them. You are risking harm to the animal on the animal’s behalf for your own pleasure.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk Autonomy isn’t just the absence of physical force. It’s the capacity to make decisions that reflect your own values and interests. In order to be autonomous in decisions you need to understand the consequences and the ins and outs of the actions you are agreeing to.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk Ok, we can agree in our current society bestiality is wrong, I’m glad we agree on that. We can get into the ethics of the system and the philosophy of it another time, but I’m glad we can at least agree in society right now it’s wrong.
@RoussilB@4n0n_d3v @sqqrrrkkk Ok… well… we both agree there are social and legal risks to having sex with animals, so by the standard that risks makes it wrong… you agree that having sex with animals is wrong. That’s great. I’m so glad we can finally agree on that. Amazing. Have a great night!
@4n0n_d3v@RoussilB @sqqrrrkkk The point I’m making with the example is,
you have knowledge of a danger and you have a duty to ensure the other party has an understanding of that risk. If the other party doesn’t have understanding of the risk and you do, taking advantage of that ‘consent’ is exploitative.
