The future of an economy rests in the hands entrepreneurs.
To combat high unemployment rates in Africa, entrepreneurship is key in driving economic growth by supporting job creation. It is estimated that 22% of Africa’s workforce is engaged in entrepreneurial activities.
Lagos State Government Sponsors Thirteen Youth on a Study Tour to Canada.
The study tour, facilitated by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in collaboration with Future Perspectives , is part of the government’s continued effort to invest in young people and build future leaders.
The selected youth will participate in academic sessions and cross-cultural learning activities designed to promote global citizenship. They are expected to return with broadened worldviews, improved leadership capacity, and a deeper appreciation of Canada’s role on the global stage.
Through opportunities like this, the Lagos State Government shows its strong belief in the potential of youth to contribute meaningfully to development.

The Lagos State Youth Ambassadors had the unique opportunity to step inside the councillors chamber at Toronto City Hall, the very space where vital decisions shaping the city are made.
Adding a fun twist to the experience😅 they each got to sit in the Speaker’s chair, getting a feel for what it’s like to preside over the city’s democratic process.

Excited to share that I’m currently on a fully sponsored study trip to Canada, courtesy of the Lagos State Government, at Queen’s University! 🇨🇦
It’s been over a week since I arrived, and between jet lag, time zone shifts, the long flight from Lagos, and a packed academic schedule, I’m still adjusting 😅…Nigeria is 5 hours ahead, and it’s been fascinating to experience the difference, it doesn’t get dark here until around 9 or 10pm, and by 5am everywhere is already bright. The nights are very short, and the days are really long..
Grateful to the Lagos State Government for this opportunity i honestly can’t thank them enough..
Special thanks to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, @Mo_ogunlende and my dear mummy Pharm. (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Oke-Osayintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry…And of course thank you to Mr Babajide Sanwo- Olu (Lagos State Governor) @jidesanwoolu for making it possible for me to fly across continents and be part of this life-changing experience.
Also thrilled to announce that @LagosJunction has secured a media partnership with Future Perspectives for this programme!
The team is incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and we’ve already started capturing exclusive content from the trip — with more to come!!!
Huge thanks to the Future Perspectives team @FutPerspectives for putting this amazing programme together, and a special shout-out to Mrs Abimbola Asekun, Co-Founder and Executive Director…. @FutPerspectives ..It’s been an amazing experience learning from her so insightful..and also fun to work with
