Inter Kashi played in a compact stadium in Pune and had a decent turnout, making for a good viewing experience on screen. Meanwhile, Punjab FC continue to play at the massive JLN Stadium in Delhi, with empty stands and no fan noise. Football loses its soul without fans.

For the long-term growth of the ISL, clubs need to play in their home states. If that’s not possible, they should at least play in compact stadiums where fans can turn up and create an atmosphere.
