From the lab to the community, Camille Wimberly is defining what the future of STEM looks like.

The rising Howard University junior, biology major, and Karsh STEM Scholar has been named a 2026 Goldwater Scholarship recipient, one of only 454 students selected nationwide for this prestigious honor.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Karl Thompson, Camille’s groundbreaking microbiology research explores DNA damage resistance in staph bacteria, while her passion for service continues to inspire the next generation through STEM outreach and mentorship.
