I am glad to see that modern science is just catching up.

Why shouldn't we just stick to the manual and follow it through? The Prophet (peace be upon him) established the practice of Qailulah over fourteen centuries ago.

It was prescribed to restore mental sharpness and physical energy for the rest of the day. Now researchers are using complex medical terminology to explain a basic Sunnah.

The role of science should be to confirm the manual, not the other way around. The divine guidance is complete. When you follow the manual, you are always centuries ahead of the latest scientific discoveries.

You see this quote above, hold on to it. It is the most profound lesson here.

He might have cried in the past for not having a son. That is a very natural human feeling. But now that he has fully accepted the decree of the Almighty, he has found true peace. He can now clearly see the profound benefits and blessings in the three daughters he was given.

The great scholar Ibn Ata Allah al-Iskandari captured this exact reality beautifully in Al-Hikam al-Ata'iyyah when he explained that when Allah withholds something from you, it is just another form of giving. Our vision is severely limited. We fight so hard for what we think we want, completely blind to the hidden harms.

This also reminds me of the story of Hannah, the wife of Imran. She was pregnant and made a sincere vow to dedicate the child in her womb to the service of the holy sanctuary in Jerusalem. At that time, only males were allowed to serve in the sanctuary. She fully expected a son.

When she gave birth, she realized it was a girl. The Quran records her moment of confusion and slight disappointment in Surah Ali 'Imran. She said: "My Lord, I have delivered a female."

She thought her grand plan to serve the Almighty was ruined because she did not get the boy she prayed for. But the Almighty responded with a statement that echoes through history:

"And the male is not like the female."

He accepted her daughter. That daughter was Maryam.

Maryam went on to achieve a spiritual rank that no man of her time could touch. She was granted a miraculous provision in the sanctuary, became the greatest woman to ever walk the earth, and gave birth to Prophet Isa. The son Hannah wanted could never have achieved what the daughter she was given accomplished.

Beautifully, Dangote also had a Mariya amongst his daughters. And we all can see what she has accomplished.

When the Almighty denies you a son and gives you daughters, He is telling you that the male you imagined is not like the female He has chosen for you. His decree is flawless.

There was no ambiguity anywhere in the first place. You are the one who is just getting to know. Nigerian Muslims understand the difference very clearly.

Muslims are fully aware that less than 15% of the global Muslim population is Arab. The vast majority of the world's Muslims live in non-Arab countries, with around 62% residing in the Asia-Pacific region.

The countries with the highest Muslim populations are Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, none of which are Arab nations.

On the flip side, the Arab world is diverse. There are between 27 and 32 million Christians across the Arab world. Egypt alone is home to over 10 million Coptic Christians who are ethnically Arab. In Lebanon, Christians make up 35% to 40% of the population.

Arabic is a language, and Islam is a religion. We know the difference. And if you see anyone promoting the Arabic language, there is a reason for it.

Muslims promote Arabic because it is the language of the Quran, not because we want to be Arabs. Every translation of a text is a human interpretation. We preserve the original Arabic to protect the pure theology from being watered down or lost in translation over time.

It is also our greatest unifier. Because of Arabic, a Nigerian Muslim, a Chinese Muslim, and a Brazilian Muslim can stand shoulder to shoulder in Mecca or anywhere else and pray together in complete harmony.

We elevate the language to preserve the original message and keep a global community united in worship. We know what we are doing.

Over and over again, time has revealed the truth. We do not need a lab coat to validate the guidance. Science is just doing what it always does. It will eventually catch up.

If people work for you, pay them on time.

Salary is not a favour. It is money somebody has already worked for.

A lot of Nigerians finish their salary before the month finishes them. Food, transport, data, school fees, rent and family responsibilities are already waiting at the door. Some people are working just enough to eat, get to work and return to a room they can afford.

The least an employer can do is keep the agreed date.

And when someone has been exceptional, carried extra weight and helped the business through a difficult month, a bonus can say, “We noticed.” Not because it is compulsory. Because good work should not always receive only more work.

Payroll is not where a serious company should practise suspense.

I really want to commend the sender's courage. Acknowledging that you have a problem and seeking help is the hardest step in breaking any addiction.

This is a very common struggle, especially in today's hyper-sexualized world. Let me address this in two parts: why it is prohibited, and how to practically break free.

First, why and how is it haram?
The vast majority of Islamic scholars rule that masturbation is prohibited based on a very clear principle established in the Quran. In Surah Al-Mu'minun, Allah describes the traits of the successful believers, saying:

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
(And they who guard their private parts).

He then makes the only exception for their spouses, and concludes with a definitive ruling:

فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ
(But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors).

The scholars explain that "seeking beyond that" includes any form of intentional sexual release outside the bounds of marriage. Islam regulates our desires not to punish us, but to protect our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being from being enslaved to our base instincts.

Now, for the second part: how do you stop the addiction?
Addiction to masturbation is essentially a dopamine loop. From experience, you cannot break it with just willpower. You need a practical and spiritual system.

First of all, you need to apply the Prophetic prescription. The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised young people who cannot get married to fast. This is because fasting physically weakens the driving force of the desire and builds immense spiritual discipline. It trains your body to say "no" to lawful food, which makes it easier to say "no" to unlawful desires.

Secondly, you must starve your triggers. Just as Imam Ibn-l-Qayyim said, the eyes is the window to the soul. Your urge is triggered by what you consume. If you are constantly looking at soft-porn on Instagram, TikTok, or movies, your brain will eventually demand a release. Lower your gaze, both physically and digitally. What you do not feed will eventually starve.

Again, you need to eliminate the environment of sin. The devil thrives in isolation. Most relapses happen when you are alone, bored, and have a screen in your hand. Do not take your phone into the bathroom. Do not stay up late alone in your room with the lights off. Sleep early. If you feel the urge coming, physically leave the room and sit where people are.

Finally, never let Shaytan use your sin to push you away from Allah. Recovery is a journey. If you slip and fall, do not stay on the ground thinking you are a hypocrite. That is exactly what Shaytan wants. Make Wudu immediately, pray two Raka'at of Tawbah, and start again. Allah does not expect you to be flawless; He expects you to keep fighting and returning to Him.

If this reportage is true, then this is not law. It is extortion disguised as the law.

Let me tell you why.

The husband is demanding $30,000 for a Khula. In classical Islamic jurisprudence, Khula is a mechanism for a woman to initiate divorce by returning the specific Mahr (dowry) she received. It is not an open cheque for ransom.

The Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:229 is clear about not unjustly consuming a woman's wealth. Using impossible financial demands to hold a woman hostage is oppression (Zulm), not Sharia.

We must ask the biggest question. Why did the Governor not suggest Faskh? Is Faskh not in their own religious books?

Faskh al-Nikah is the judicial dissolution of a marriage. When a woman stands before a leader and says her marriage is hell and she would rather face execution than return, the authority has a legal duty to step in on the grounds of harm (Darar).

If a judge applies Faskh, he forcefully dissolves that marriage. It does not require the husband to give consent. It requires zero financial ransom from the woman. The foundational Islamic legal maxim here is:

لا ضرر ولا ضرار
There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.

The spiritual anchoring for marriage in Islam is very binary: retain a wife in goodness or release her with grace. There is no provision that says "force her back into a home she fears while offering her a separate room."

The Governor ignored all these legal escapes and instead preached about her "honor" and asked who would marry a divorced woman. He elevated tribal culture, shame, and patriarchy above the clear and merciful provisions of the Deen.

This is what I say when many of you come to defend the Taliban. They are highly narrow in their views. This is why they come off as extreme.

Most investors fund what they understand. Most of them have never been to Lagos, Nairobi, or Accra.

The African founders who break through are the ones who learn to translate local opportunity into language global capital recognizes.

That translation is a skill. It should be taught.

Living abroad can turn ordinary Nigerian food into a logistics operation.

You find one African store forty minutes away. The price of plantain needs a meeting. Somebody says they have yam and brings out something you have to inspect properly.

Then a friend comes back from Nigeria with food in a cooler bag and suddenly everything is fine again.

The stockfish. The crayfish. The proper yam. The things you didn’t even know you missed until you smelled them in your kitchen.

That’s the funny thing about food.

It can make somewhere thousands of miles away feel close again.

So yes, I understand why people guard the last piece of stockfish like intellectual property.

It is not greed.

It is supply-chain management.
