Unstuffed Pepper Skillet Dinner
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp steak seasoning
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 bell peppers, diced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup long grain white rice, uncooked
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
1. Brown the Meat: In a skillet, brown the ground beef. Add salt, pepper, paprika, steak seasoning, onion, and diced bell peppers.
2. Cook Vegetables and Seasoning: Cook until the ground beef is done and peppers and onions are softened. Drain any grease from the skillet.
3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, beef broth, and uncooked rice. Stir the mixture well.
4. Cook Rice: Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover with a lid, and cook for about 20 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
5. Mix and Top with Cheese: Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Spread the remaining cheese on top.
6. Melt Cheese: Allow the cheese to melt, either by letting it sit or by placing the skillet under a broiler in the oven.
7. Serve: Serve the skillet meal hot. Optional toppings include sour cream and hot sauce.
