🚨BREAKING: The mask has slipped. Yesterday, @ZelenskyyUa had a shouting match with @realDonaldTrump & @JDVance1 in the White House.
For years, he was hailed a hero. Now he's exposed.
Here’s the history of the Ukraine & Zelenskyy you won't hear from the media: 🧵👇 1/22
SOUTH EAST: I have struggled to understand the rationale behind this kind of blockade across South East of Nigeria. It is arguably one of the most humiliating acts of intimidation that I’ve ever seen. You have to experience it to believe it. The first time I saw this, traveling from Enugu to a friend’s event in Abia, I was blown away. If I didn’t have my own escort, there was no way I could’ve made that event. The lines stretch several kilometers back and people can be stuck in those things for as long as 2,3 or more hours. By the time they get to leave, it’s dark and dangerous to ply most of those roads. The whole essence of leaving early to arrive early as advised by the Nigerians police is then defeated, thereby endangering the same lives you claim to be protecting with these road blocks!
This doesn’t happen in any other part of Nigeria. Eastern region isn’t the terrorism hotbed of Nigeria. We all know it’s the North. Yet, they don’t have anything nearly as close in the North. It’s free movement all the way. But in the East, every pole, nearly every few kilometers, if it’s not army, it’s police, civil defense or even customs!
Now the billion dollar question is: who inflicts more harm on the people - Unknown Gunmen or the extortionate checkpoints?
I obviously do not have a problem with checkpoints intended to check criminality, but criminality isn’t curbed by these kinds of intimidating and choking checkpoints. You end criminality with combat readiness. That’s why in America, the police doesn’t block the road except there’s an emergency. They have patrol vehicles parked on highway shoulders, ready to go after any offender at a moment’s notice.
If these checkpoints were to check crimes, the people definitely are tired of it. Some of them now even prefer the so called crimes to this level of humiliating restriction of movement. It’s crippling economic activities in the East and it’s beginning to look suspicious.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe among many others have raised alarm and it seems no one is listening. Dismantle these checkpoints or make them passable for motorists. We’re not living in war time in Eastern Nigeria. We know where the war is at in Nigeria. It’s not the East.
