Football fans are hypocrites.
When PSG refused to sell Mbappé and Real Madrid kept trying to convince his family not to sign a new contract so he could join for free, it was fine.
When Diego Simeone called Álvarez 11 times to convince him to join, even before discussing with Manchester City, it wasn’t considered bad.
When Liverpool were doing the same with Isak last season to put pressure on Newcastle to sell him, nobody complained.
When other clubs speak with a player’s camp and agent to know the possibility of signing the player before approaching his club, it’s not a problem.
But when Barcelona do it, everybody starts crying and says it’s a bad way of trying to sign Álvarez.
You guys are hypocrites. Barcelona submitted a bid for Álvarez. If Álvarez is ready to leave Atlético, he’ll make his intentions known publicly. If we don’t sign Álvarez, we’ll simply look for another striker. It’s that simple.
🚨🔵🔴 BREAKING: Barcelona send first official proposal to Atlético Madrid for Julián Álvarez worth €100m.
No add-ons, no players involved.
Atlético, not happy about the situation over last 24h — but Julián has already asked to leave.
🚨💣 BREAKING: Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, here we go! Official bid accepted now by Newcastle board and Saudi owners.
€70m fixed fee plus add-ons to bring final package over €80m for #NUFC.
Gordon set to travel this week for medical and contract signing at FCB. 🔵🔴✈️

I think Europeans take for granted living in Europe.
You can just buy a ticket on a whim to fly to Greece, Italy, France, England, Slovenia, Croatia, Malta, whatever takes your fancy, for a quick weekend getaway.
Often for really cheap too via Ryanair, like way cheaper than Spirit was.
I just bought a ticket to Rome from Barcelona for ~€40. 🤯
And you don't even need a passport.
Many Europeans don't even have a passport due to the Schengen Area.
In the US, if you fly 3 hours away, you end up in freaking Topeka, Kansas with nothing to do.
In Europe, you could end up in the Swiss Alps, the Mediterranean coast, quaint Italian towns, French vineyards, the Eiffel Tower, the freaking Colosseum, etc. etc.
