@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder I’ve absolutely loved that he mentioned it. I remember telling my buddies it was a good thing, but I haven’t heard much about it since.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder His name is Andres 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for your kind prayers.

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder One of the most frustrating things for me is that the same big pharma companies that are sucking us dry are already partially or fully subsidized by American taxpayers for R&D — then the drug goes to market, and they charge us more than almost any other country in the world.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder It’s hard to disagree with that. I just think we need a middle ground — since healthcare is a profit-driven enterprise, like big pharma, we can’t fully deregulate them; they’ve never earned that trust. An example is the guy who raised the price of that AIDS medication.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder Yes I hate the character limit as well 😂

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder This is also where our disagreements start. Before the ACA, catastrophic illnesses often weren’t covered because insurers could deny or outright refuse to pay. The ACA brought us to a middle ground — it’s not perfect, but it’s a start. Admittedly, it did bring some big issues.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder After re-reading your post, I realize I basically said the same thing you did, just differently. I think day-to-day health costs should be paid by the individual — you or me — but catastrophic illnesses should be covered.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder I’m not against people paying out of pocket for regular visits or scans — especially if prices were actually reasonable. I’m even for using HSA accounts for that. The real problem is when it comes to chronic conditions — things not caused by self-harm or lifestyle choices, like

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder I partially agree with you, but my blame lies less with the government and more with institutions that abuse it and drain it dry. The government says it provides X, but institutions claim they need Y and Z to deliver X — if that makes sense. Checks and balances is IMO the way.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder Luckily, he’s stable, but the thing with cancer is it’s a lifelong battle. Without protections for pre-existing conditions, god forbid I lose my job — I’m the sole provider — he would never be able to get insurance himself. I believe he will beat this, but it’s not an easy diseas

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder long time. So when I say I know the healthcare system, I really know it.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder ways, he does the opposite. That said, I can’t blame him for how the left attacked him. I would love it if he rose above it.

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder Who’s even going to collect that debt? The Big Beautiful Bill added like $4T to it. I’m not claiming to have a solution. One of my wishes is for this country to go back to being undivided. I voted for Trump, and one thing about him — he’s not exactly encouraging unity; in many

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder I also want the debt to be paid — fiscally, I’m conservative. I’d consider myself a moderate Republican, but there’s no leeway or excuse for every American to have to worry about healthcare, especially in the wealthiest country on earth. On healthcare, I’m heavily left. At this

[Sockgua @Fwogua]

@rightnGA @pdoherty972 @SomeWelder I’m 33 and have been working since I was 15.I also have one of the best insurance plans possible because I work for a massive healthcare system tied to a university. You have no idea what you’re talking about healthcare is not a subject you should weigh in on. You’re out of touch
