Uncorking treasures of South Africa in Dorking ... Dragonridge and Kershaw Wines make news in Surrey! Andy & Becky will be hosting a pop-up wine bar in their home town featuring natural wines made at Fynbos Estate. #fynbosestate#naturalwine#dragonridgewines#roseandprotea
And then bang on time we were off. Crunch moments of stress and occasional falling about with laughter happened when the quiche wouldn’t come off its metal base and when we tried to get the pasta out al dente while speeches went on longer than anticipated. #fynbosestate
Finally the day dawned, and obsessive watching of weather forecast put (much needed) rain bang at the time of the garden ceremony. #fynbosestate#countrywedding#weddingvenue
A day before, and the stayover guests arrived bringing décor and a huge quirky container of homemade matrimony ale made by the groom. Jess, Gina’s friend worked like a demon at the décor and in the kitchen the cooking continued.

Four days before the event the garden and wedding spaces were made tip top and the infrastructure put in place: tables chairs, tent. Then the next day came all the soft stuff like the linen and the polishing of crockery and cutlery.

The delightful weekend wedding of Gina and James. Behind the scenes. What a joyful relaxed wedding this was, with people from all over the world coming together to excitedly catch up, chill together, eat and drink lots, and dance the night away.

I love absolutely everything about our donkeys: their smell, the riffly ruffly sounds they make, the way their ears express their emotions. Here are some favourite donkey pics of Bella Talulah and Rupert. #donkeys#farmwithsoul#westerncapeaccommodation#countryaccommodation
Our grandchild Dani, 5 years old, tends the graves of Carlie and Sweet pi, both recently died. She tells me she thinks they are playing together with all the other animals who have ever died on the farm. #farmwithsoul#fynbosestate
Since I have a great weakness for sweet dessert wine, Johan has made the tiniest quantity of a straw wine which he has called Darling Diana. Its not for sale and the rule is that only I get to open and share bottles. Here I am getting a taste while it is in the making.
The time of the Coulter flowers has once again lit our farm in iridescent yellow. This is always a special delight for us. #fynbosestate#coulterflowers
These photos taken by Don Pinnock using a special technique to capture the historical sense of our old 1880 farmhouse, gave us a real sense of how time passes and how we own nothing in the end. #fynbosestate#donpinnock#photography
After 3 weeks once again making wine here this year, it’s time for Andy and Becky to go home to the UK. We are all sad! Not only are they critical to the winemaking process but they get on wonderfully with Charlie and Doubt who help in the winery.#fynbosestate#roseandprotea
These last days we hear the low rumble of the ‘Working for Fire’ truck and the cheering morning songs of its occupants. Subsidised by Cape Nature Conservation, they have come to clear alien vegetation towards the top of the mountain. #capenature#fynbosestate
This weekend Johan spoke his best Afrikaans (most creditably) and smiled his most charming gap toothed smile for the FIESTA TV crew. FIESTA is part of KYK NET and as part of their coverage of the outdoor expo at Moreson nearby. #fynbosestate#fiestatv#kyknet#naturalwine
"The best venue we have been to” - This was Dave Boulle’s report from his team of 13 Mason https://t.co/o39iDUJZsQ employees here for their annual sales conference and strategy setting for the year. #fynbosesate#workshops#workshopvenue
