It should alarm every Canadian that the primary use the Liberals have made of their new, backroom, bribe-bought majority has been to ram through legislation that censors the internet, spies on citizens, and lays the groundwork for a virtual surveillance state.
@liberal_party Said no one.
And stating this as you ram through draconian censorship bills, without debate and without democratic input, in an unelected majority to silence actual Canadians.
Bill C-22, the largest expansion of government surveillance in Canadian history, is being forced through committee and the House of Commons this week by the Liberals.
Serious legislation does not require silencing opposition or shutting down debate.
This is a dark day for our democracy.
Never seen anything like this. The Liberals are ramming through Bill C-22 and ignoring legitimate voices. Shameful.
We will fight this abuse of process every step of the way.
@MarkJCarney It means the exact opposite. More burocracy and more government involvement. Your government seems intent on controlling everything and that, as we all know, is not how free democratic countries operate.
@firedup2@brianlilley Bills are declined when they contain poor language or require improvement, if those are not done they decline favour, it is a good approach.
