@utdrobbo Love this but the issue is amorim won't take this route. He will most likely play mount as the right 10, dorgu at the lwb and then play dalot at the rwb. It's surprising how you all can't see this

In my opinion, there are many factors as to why United have won the last 3 games.

Yes, there have been some tweaks from Ruben Amorim:

- higher % long balls from GK
- 5-4-1/4-4-2 OOP rather than 5-2-3

Also:

- Amad starting every game at RWB (didn’t start vs ARS, MCI, BRE, 3 losses)
- CBs looked more convincing stepping up and following the 10/CF to prevent overloads in midfield

There are other factors involved, such as better fortune as well. United hit the woodwork various times in the first few games and missed two penalties — whereas Gakpo hit the woodwork various times vs us in one game.

The introduction of Senne Lammens has also been crucial, bringing a lot more confidence to the defence and his longer passing being used to go long and then pounce on 2nd balls.

Finally, to put it simply, Sunderland didn’t turn up at Old Trafford, neither really did Brighton. The general execution of game plans and application from both sets of players wasn’t there — this is also a factor. And most teams are beating Liverpool right now…

These are all factors behind United’s recent success. I’m happy with the 3 results, some good performances, but now the question is where do we go from here?

Amorim has adapted within his framework, and has some really good attacking players that can survive within the current approach of avoiding the first phase and going long (Cunha, Mbeumo, Šeško etc). The ceiling of this approach, however is not THAT high — can the manager take the next step?

Are Manchester United going to become a team that can dominate games, both in and out of possession, be able to build up from the back and play through a press as well an over one? These are big and important question marks, if United really want to take the next step and be able to compete over a full season with the top teams and eventually become a team that challenges for the title.

Amorim has adapted for now, to get results. His next huge task is to increase the ceiling of the approach — and get United’s most technically gifted players in a framework where they are on the ball for large periods in the opposition’s half and can make things happen.

For years and years, managers have had to adapt to get results and it feels like we’ve rarely been at a point where we’re actually building towards a high ceiling approach with a framework that values dominance in all phases, with a great build up, effective press, sustained attacks, and the like.

I hope we can work towards this in the near future, because as much as I have enjoyed the last 3 wins, there’s so much more that we can get out of some of these players, in a much higher ceiling approach.
