I went to Dartmouth. It costs roughly $60,000 a year all in. I now build homes for a living. They cost roughly $350,000 to build.

Both of these numbers are completely insane. And they are insane for the exact same reason.

The moment the government guarantees a loan, the seller stops caring what the buyer can actually afford. College tuition exploded after the federal government started backing student loans with no underwriting and no discharge in bankruptcy. Home prices exploded after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac started buying mortgages and removing risk from lenders.

When a bank knows it will get paid no matter what, it will lend to anyone. When the bank will lend to anyone, the seller raises the price. When the seller raises the price, the buyer just borrows more. Nobody feels the pain until the bill comes due 10 or 30 years later.

Colleges added $200 million rec centers and hired thousands of administrators because students were writing checks with money that didn't feel real. Home sellers listed at $500k because they knew the bank would approve it regardless of whether the buyer could sustain the payment.

I benefited from both systems. My Dartmouth degree opened doors. The homes I build get financed by these same banks. I am not pretending to be above it.

But I look at both industries from the inside and tell you they run on the same engine. A guaranteed loan that disconnects the buyer from the real cost of what they are purchasing. The university and the mortgage lender have the same business model. They are financing tools that happen to have a campus or a front door.

If the government removed the guarantee from the student loans tomorrow, tuition would drop 40% within five years. If Fannie and Freddie disappeared, home prices would correct in the same direction. The prices are essentially fake. They are a reflection of how much debt a bank is willing to issue, not how much the product is intrinsically worth.

I say this as someone who went to an expensive school and builds homes. Both systems are broken in the exact same way and nobody talks about it because too many people profit from the status quo.

If you don’t think he’s a woman, you’re transphobic. When he claimed to be a woman, he became a woman. He now belongs in women’s changing rooms, bathrooms, hospital wards, prison cells and rape support centres.

If you try and differentiate between him and a trans woman who looks more convincing as a woman, you are promoting patriarchal beauty norms. If you admit to seeing an aggressive and possibly unbalanced man in this video, you’re saying all trans people are mentally ill predators. If you refuse to let him into female-only spaces, you’re removing his right to exist. If you suggest he could comfortably use male facilities, you secretly want him assaulted. If you refuse to call him ‘she’, you are guilty of unpardonable cruelty. If you’re a woman who wouldn’t want to share a locker room with him, or a man who wouldn’t want your daughter, sister or mother to get undressed in close proximity to him, you belong to the far-right. If you point out that there is no objective difference between his claim to be a woman and that of any other biological male claiming a trans identity, you are too stupid to understand the circular arguments explaining why he’s not really trans whereas other men who say they’re women are really trans.

If you’re righteous, you must argue that this man’s self-declared identity overrides any consideration of the safety and rights of females. To be godly, you must agree he’s as ‘valid’ as every other trans woman, because people are who they say they are. No matter what your eyes, ears and common sense are telling you, if you don’t want to end up on the wrong side of history, you must pretend to believe that this angry, intimidating man is actually a vulnerable, oppressed woman.

If a white nationalist said Black people weren’t rational, couldn’t plan ahead, and couldn’t keep a schedule, we would call him racist before he finished the sentence.

In 2020, the Smithsonian published an infographic that put those very qualities under “White culture.”

I commented on it then. It’s making the rounds again, so I’m saying it again now.

How can we Black people let something like this go unchallenged when our children are the ones who will absorb its message?

The graphic lists objective and rational thinking, cause and effect, quantitative thinking, hard work, self-reliance, planning for the future, delayed gratification, strict schedules, respect for authority, and decision-making as features of “White culture.” It then says that people of color have internalized aspects of that culture.

Think about the implication. These virtues are supposedly foreign to us, and if we value them, we are “acting White.”

I reject that completely.

These are human virtues. People of every skin color need them and are capable of cultivating them if they want to thrive, raise strong families, build businesses, and create better societies.

To the countless Black people who, like me, have always prized hard work, planning, and delayed gratification, this graphic is an insult. It reinforces damaging stereotypes and pushes a victimhood mindset on our youth.

This is racist and ignorant, no matter who approved it.

I’m done with the Smithsonian for this.

Real progress would teach our children that these virtues belong to them too, and that becoming disciplined, thoughtful, and responsible does not make them any less Black.

It's a joyless, angry, violent, race obsessed non-stop 2018 Oberlin struggle session filled with entitled lunatics unable to survive without someone else picking up the bill. They whine when they don't get attention, and whine 10x harder when they do. According to these Smithsonian graphics, traits like hard work, self-reliance, the scientific method, delayed gratification, planning for the future, objective thinking, and the nuclear family are framed as characteristics of "Whiteness."

If those are supposedly "White" values, what exactly is being implied about everyone else?

These are universal values that people of every background strive for, not racial traits owned by one group.

This is what happens when an ideology becomes so obsessed with race that it starts putting ordinary human virtues into racial boxes.
