i’ve been a grey’s fan for a long time. while i think the show has lost itself over the years, nothing compares to the magic the OG cast brought. needless to say, i love this show and i cherish the OGs close to my heart. eric’s passing is gut wrenching. may he rest in peace 💔
Eric Dane shares his last words to his daughters in final interview on Netflix:
“I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall we had a blast, didn’t we? I remember all the times we spent at the beach, the two of you, me and mom — in Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico. I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven... When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”
“I hope I've demonstrated that you can face anything, you can face the end of your days, you can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high. Billie and Georgia, you are my heart, you are my everything. Goodnight. I love you.
Eric Dane leaves his daughters — and the world — with one final message in Famous Last Words.
Patrick Dempsey pays tribute to #GreysAnatomy co-star Eric Dane and says they texted a week before his death.
“I just woke up this morning, and I was very sad to read the news. It’s hard to put into words. I feel really so sad for his children. I was corresponding with him, we were texting. So I spoke to him about a week ago. Some friends of ours went in to see him, and he was really starting to lose his ability to speak, he was bed-ridden and it was very hard for him to swallow. The quality of his life was deteriorating so rapidly. He had a great sense of humor. He was easy to work with, we got along instantly. First scene was him, you know, in all his glory, coming out of the bathroom with the towel on looking amazing, making you feel completely out of shape and insignificant.” (via “The Chris Evans Breakfast Show”)

'Grey’s Anatomy' alumna Jessica Capshaw has paid tribute to her co-star, the late Eric Dane. She played Arizona, Mark’s best friend and co-parent with Callie of his daughter Sofia.
“For five seasons, Arizona and Mark shared witty banter, hard truths, big laughs (and cries), and so much of their hearts with one another.” Capshaw wrote on Instagram. "Beneath that confident charm lived a unique softness and a fierce love for his people that was rare and that only Eric could have brought to that character.”

Mark Sloan’s final goodbye on #GreysAnatomy is even more poignant now. “If you love someone, you tell them. Even if you’re scared that it’s not the right thing, even if you’re scared it’ll cause problems, even if you’re scared it’ll burn your life to the ground, you say it and you say it loud.”
We are saddened to share that Eric Dane passed away at 53 after a brave battle with ALS. In his final months, he didn't just fight for himself — he fought for everyone living with ALS and their loved ones. He advocated for ALS research funding, raised awareness, and never stopped. His voice will carry on. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. ❤️ We desperately need to cure this devastating disease.
