The first argument I saw against Valko came from my ex-moots. They said “supporting Valko means you are against the other 5, supporting Valko means you have no issue with Caleb not getting a main story update” but that argument completely ignores how a game studio actually works.
Artists, writers and engineers that we refer as the devs don’t decide what type of content gets made (more main story, more heartfelt gifts, more ways to get diamonds) or the monetization strategy, that comes from product managers (product specialists, product owners ← my brother is one) and producers reading the market and KPIs. It’s not “Sylus devs vs Valko devs or team Caleb vs team Xavier” it’s ONE team split across projects. The artist who designed Rafayel’s outfit for the next myth might be working on Sylus’s next myth right now meanwhile the two fanbases are at each other’s throats daily 🙄

Spitting on one character’s work is spitting on the hand that designed the cards you love.

That’s why I always encouraged everyone to voice their discontent with the lack of main story and ways to get diamond. To boycott the new banners even until our demands are fulfilled.

At the end of the day we are denied content shaped with love and the people who don’t set the roadmap (the devs) saw their creation destroyed too 😢

I need the LADS fandom to understand that the point of boycotting is to be disruptive in order to put pressure on a corporate entity that otherwise would not be motivated to respond to consumer demands. If you feel inconvenienced by players using the only small power we have to get PPG/Infold to listen, I’m sorry but that is actually how protesting has historically gotten results.

LADS is a single-player game. No one is capable of ruining your individual player experience because no one can interact directly with you inside the game. You have free will—you can log in, you can pull for cards, you can even spend money and there’s nothing anyone can do to change that.

What you’re actually upset about is that after 6/30, you can no longer enjoy the social experience of posting positively about LADS on Twitter without potentially seeing some amount of backlash because people are upset that online cry bullies were able to weaponize the CCP and force a company to rugpull a multi-million dollar character and game update. Social media is not the game, and your experience on social media is something you yourself are responsible for curating.

What the boycott is trying to achieve is to put enough pressure on PPG to get them to actually communicate with us, reinstate Valko, and address the plethora of ongoing issues—at which point we can all go back to “normal” and you can go back to simply ignoring the LIs who don’t interest you.

PPG does not deserve a “normal” response to their online promotions because they literally gave their entire playerbase the silent treatment for 30 days and then tried to go back to business as usual. It’s THEM you should be directing your frustration and anger at, not at other players who are simply demanding better.

I want to say something that I’ve believed from the beginning.

Love and Deepspace nor Infold, WANTED to get rid of Valko. It’s my firm belief that they absolutely want him in the game and did not want to cancel him.

Why would they? They created him, hired and paid for an entire team of people for him. Spent years of time, money, and resources, and creativity on him. Do yall seriously think they’re not releasing him because they simply don’t want to?

They invested just as much in him as any other LI. Common sense will tell you that, plus all the little hints we have throughout the game that tell us there was always support to be a 6th love interest.

They didn’t want this. This has literally cost them tens of millions of dollars, not only from the severe revenue drop after his cancellation but just the amount of money that went into creating him only to have him scrapped at the last minute.

Canceling him cause an ENORMOUS wave of backlash, an entire global movement, every single one of their posts to get ratioed to hell, their emails and customer support channels getting flooded with stuff about wanting Valko back, their normally tight schedule SEVERELY disrupted.

Of course they didn’t want this.

Of course they didn’t want to trash a multimillion dollar asset.

Of course they didn’t want their entire fandom going up in flames.

They did not want to cancel Valko.

They want him in the game just as much as all of us.

It is our job to SHOW them how much and how many people want him. Keep screaming it from the rooftops. Keep being loud. Keep boycotting. Do not open their wallets to them right now. That’s the fasted way to get them to listen.

They pushed Caleb’s pv in an attempt to keep making some kind of revenue and to keep the schedule from getting even more fucked up, without risking tanking Raf’s myth. (Again I’m sorry apple babies)

This entire situation is such a shit show I just have to laugh now.

It’s so fucking ridiculous and all of it could’ve been avoided if the company would’ve fixed their shit, communicated better, kept Valko in the game, and moved the fuck on.

But no.

They fixed absolutely nothing (lighting issues, material issues, gameplay issues, etc) after extended amounts of time and efforts requesting them to do so.

Communication remained shit and even got worse as players were constantly left blindsided by announcements or lack thereof. Mind you, this despite them saying it was going to get better.

They removed a whole character, storyline, and creative team after introduction and teasing of the character because of a small group of deranged antis acted like the literally children they were because they didn’t like how he looked or took things so out of context that it was manipulated into something that it wasn’t.

Now, here we are, half the fandom already gone or leaving, no desire to play, no trust nor hope, a damaged reputation across the entire board from the company to the fans, and still not a single word of communication.

You killed your game with your own hands.

The longer you let these same problems linger, the shorter your longevity will be.
