he tried to keep still, for he would not be particularly happy if mason pricked him with the needle or stitched him up badly. but the pain and his own anxiety made his leg not stand still, as he put the bottle of whisky to his mouth.
“ fucking wire fence. it wanted to come home
( woods' head tilted down when he felt syko's gaze on him. seeing her smile, he carefully traced it with his thumb, making him smile back.
her words may have caught him a little by surprise, for though he knew that was how she felt, he hadn't expected to hear those words out
yeah, i'd like that too.
( he muttered, stroking her hair in an attempt to soothe syko — he could feel she was having a bad time. )
good. good.
( he repeated, nodding his head and thanking her in his mind when she accepted to do the same thing. )
don't take it as a goodbye,
everytime i leave, yeah?
( he didn't put it in words, but his eyes were asking for her to do the same thing — but he didn't say it, he respected syko's space, so if she didn't want to tell him, that was okay for him. )
( woods cupped syko's face in his hands, stroking one of his cheek with the thumb. looking right into her eyes, he gave her a soft squeeze on the cheek. )
y'know i can't promise that, and i don't like breaking promises. that's why i'll keep my promise of letting you know
i'm not, baby.
( he puts both of his hands on her shoulders, so that way he can pull back a bit to look at her. )
i can't tell you what i do or what mission i'm assigned to, but i can let you know when i leave. so i won't just disappear.
( he runs his finger through her hair, humming softly at the words. )
i promise i'll let you know next time i leave, okay?
( he says in a low tone, giving syko a kiss on her head. )
