Congress cannot ignore the humanitarian crisis at the border.
Tonight, @HouseDemocrats passed a $4.5B bill to address the crisis.
Among other things, it:
-funds legal & medical support for migrants,
-funds alternatives to detention,
-& provides protections for those in custody.
https://t.co/JgsAdnVnrX via @NYTimes This is heartbreaking. And completely Un-American. The President and Congress need to stop using immigrants and immigration as a political wedge issue. There is a policy solution here.
Leadership isn’t about doing what’s politically expedient. It’s about confronting hard truths & doing the right thing regardless of the political consequences. I trust this man to do right by our country.
7/x- #MaternalMortality can be reduced by investing in public health infrastructure, better data on #MaternalHealth & improved access to #healthcare for women.
California reduced its maternal death rate 55% in 4 yrs.
#Georgia could do the same. #gapol

The 5 stages of @PeteButtigieg:
1. Who?
2. South Bend?
3. What did he say?
4. Rhodes Scholar, war hero, openly gay, supremely American.
5. Pitch perfect, innovative, brilliant, inspirational.
I’m evolving...
The Russian ambassador says that "important verbal agreements" were reached at the Helsinki summit. What are those commitments, Mr. President? Congress needs to know.
FINALLY, Senate will push back on the President’s abuse of Section 232 to impose tariffs. We will vote Wednesday on a “Motion to Instruct,” a first step toward reasserting Congress’s constitutional role on tariffs.
Don't be cruel over politics.
Don't intentionally try to harm people.
Don't say anything you would worry about speaking to in front of the world in 5 years.
Don't resort to stereotypes, bigotry or prejudice.
Don't do whatever it takes to win an argument.
Just speak truth.
Kindly
