This man was baptized on Easter! Praise the Lord! We are thankful to the ministry of @JustinPetersMin who has helped this man come to know Christ. Soli Deo Gloria!
James White presents a God who has revealed Himself as sovereign and as the righteous Judge of men. He speaks from the Scriptures and does so according to the categories they provide. In this debate, he plainly demonstrated that he submits to the Word of God
While watching the full debate, it was clear that the Mormon was there to argue from emotion using illustration rather than dealing with the actual scriptures. James White did a fantastic job.
In fact, this is precisely what Romans 1:18–23 addresses men suppressing the truth and shaping “god” according to their own desires.
In this case, the Mormon has not submitted to the true Christ, but has instead fashioned a more palatable version of Him from his imagination.
Morality flows from who God is. Therefore, if one’s understanding of God is fundamentally in error, there is no stable foundation upon which to make moral claims at all.
In this clip, the Mormon claims that it is more morally significant to affirm a particular view of the atonement than to have an ontological error about God. That simply does not hold. Objective moral significance can only be grounded in the being of God Himself.
The New Covenant is established through the atoning blood of Christ. As His blood is particular for His sheep, so too is His covenant exclusive to the elect.
Christ is both the foundation and the builder of His church. Let us not presume to build what only He can raise, nor fill His house with what He has not made alive.
