@anthonyhinson0 Just for clarification, in order for you to see someone as a far leftist, they cannot simply agree with socialist policies and want them to be enacted; they have to actually declare it. How does one do that? Do I shout it out to passersby? Boy, there are a lot of labels with you
@anthonyhinson0 I was just curious whether every single person who left voiced their opinion, or if it was just an assumption.
The No Kings Protest elsewhere was pretty centrist, based on my experience and the demographic of people that showed up.
@anthonyhinson0 Great, then you and 65% of the Democratic Party are "far left." I'm not sure why that label matters so much to you. Still not further left than 99% of the population, but what the hey! We have successfully labeled you, and your sole opinion still doesn't speak for all.
65% of Democrats view socialism favorably. Most Americans prefer Democratic policies when not associated with the party.
The No Kings Protest, while amazing (thanks for your contribution), was not a "far-left" event.
Nothing you're saying makes you super far left.
Which is why I continue to say the far-left turns on its candidates, as does the far-right. I don't think many grasp how nihilistic and actually insane the far left is.
@Esperacchi@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset I think the pattern speaks for itself. Mamdani wins everyone is happy. He does something slightly more centrist: everyone throws their fists up in the air and says he's a sellout. It's predictable. And for whatever reason, online criticism doesn't count, but praise does.
@Esperacchi@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset I'm also curious as to what you think the propaganda being spread is?
Far leftists should get off the internet and be more engaged?
Super riveting stuff....
@Esperacchi@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset Oh yes the classic dismiss others' opinions because then you don't have to confront your own blind spots...
But I'm the one in an echo chamber. that's rich.
Godβs heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies. But our Fatherβs heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud. Godβs heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria
@anthonyhinson0@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset I think a large problem lies in the belief that you and others think you are farther left than 99% of the population, because the path to reach the same goals is different.
Your love of Mamdani does not represent an entire demographic, unfortunately.
@Esperacchi@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset I think you are gravely underestimating how much of the far left exists solely on Twitter.
And unfortunately for both of us, the online discourse leads to a very real lack of voter engagement and appreciation for small, necessary steps toward a more just world.
The entire point of the original post is that the far left does not truly support their once-beloved candidates.
So yes, I would agree that anyone who supports Mamdani has no issue; unfortunately, those supporters do not include the far left.
I didn't think that it needed to be spelled out for you, but here we are.
Maybe you should try engaging with someone on the far left. There is absolutely no critical thought or nuance happening there...
He received significant backlash from the far -left for meeting with Jewish leadership and for his Oct. 7th post.
I didn't hear much about his visit to the WH, which was not surprising if you pay attention to far-left patterns of behavior...
@notcapnamerica@_Doodster@smartsuzysunset I don't even think that they let Mamdani make it to election day. They got mad that he met with Jewish leadership in NYC...
