Wemby is an absolutely preposterous player. The players around him are fabulous too. Harper’s special. Not Castle’s best stuff tonight but he’s out of this world. Vassell is a true 3 and D guy who brings it.
This run could be 1/3/5/10 years but they should just win it now.
@wheatonbrando@march_mazness Nearly every team that wins a title does it during a series of playoff runs. But success is not binary. You value rings and nothing else, that’s fine. But there wasn’t going to be an OKC style war chest. What are the odds picks in the 20s give you anything near what Gobert gave?
@wheatonbrando@march_mazness What, specifically, do you think could have been done with those assets that would have been more valuable to winning than fixing their defense and rebounding problems with exactly one player? At this time in 2022 a series of of playoffs runs felt like a bit of a pipe dream
@HPbasketball I waited 20 years for the Wolves to be a relevant basketball team so I’ve really enjoyed them being winners instead of the biggest losers imaginable. Great change of pace. Things could have worked out better but idk why we’re acting like they’ve been sent to the shadow realm.
It’s also easy to sniff out a non-ball knower if they’re still whining about the Rudy trade. Another objectively excellent trade for the Wolves that fundamentally altered their place in the league hierarchy and took us from League’s Biggest Loser to regular playoff pest.
One thing that’s really crucial is that the Wolves did not trade KAT for Randle. They traded KAT for Randle, Donte, a 1st (Beringer), and the cap flexibility to retain Naz or NAW.
There’s nothing about that trade worth litigating. It was an essential window-extender.
I really hate how when a team loses we relitigate everything.
The Wolves gave up a bunch of picks for Rudy and he had a bad Game 6 against a better team. They traded KAT because of the CBA for Randle and he had a bad series.
They made two WCFs and got to the second round, for a team that has been a historical joke since KG in 2004, TWENTY years ago.
They built a good team, they couldn't get it to put it together. It doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.
NEWS -- President Trump is expected to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service in exchange for the creation of a $1.7 billion fund to compensate allies who claim they were wrongfully targeted by the Biden administration, sources tell me @PCCharalambous@alex_mallin https://t.co/tuEUDtJvks
Wolves have to lead with defense and they’ve come out of the locker room with the right stuff. Offense still feels like it’s “Ant or get lucky” but there’s some life
This game being framed as some return of a wronged hero RE: Wemby, rather than a guy who was very fortunate he wasn’t suspended after wildly flagrant elbow to an opponent’s throat is just wild to me.
Wolves at the intersection of lucky to be down 12 and getting smoked by the refs. Could easily be down 20. Probably deserve to be down 12. It is what it is.
