This morning, I spoke with 4th and 5th grade students at @GCBurkhead in Hardin County about my heroes, including those who who carry a badge, teach a class, and wear nurse scrubs.
Our Commonwealth needs talented young people, and these students have a bright future ahead!

Great day in the GCB Library today celebrating Dr. Seuss and Read Across America. Mrs. Goodman’s 3rd grade class did an awesome job with the Dr. Seuss Stem Activites!#HCSStongerTogether@HardinCoSchools
Today was a great day at GCB! Staff and students kicked off “I Love to Read” week by dropping everything and reading. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students also participated in storytelling with Kentucky story teller Mary Hamilton. #HCSStrongerTogether#ILovetoRead
The first day of Hour of Code was a success at GCB. Students spent time in the library with Mrs. Skaggs learning about computer programming. They worked on https://t.co/8E8sn7DebG and coded a Mini Sphero through a human obstacle course. #HCSStrongerTogether@HCSTabb
Congrats to @GCBurkhead 5th grade teacher Kim Mouser for earning a grant from the Hardin Co. Education Fund managed by @ckcf4people! Our wonderful students, staff & community form a unbreakable bond & we are all #HCSStrongerTogether https://t.co/VNVIzXylgb
.@GCBurkhead is NOT on lock-down. Per KY law, schools have to do a certain amount of fire drills. The school was just going through a scheduled fire drill. Somehow, the rumor has gotten out that the school is on lock-down because of that fire drill. That is false.
Tomorrow August 2 is Kindergarten Kick Off from 9:00-11:30 and Open House for 1st-5th grade from 5:30-7:00. We look forward to seeing our students and families! #HCSStrongerTogether
