@Mattel - A rare autoimmune disease caused my daughter to have sudden & TOTAL hearing loss w/ many other related medical issues since 7/24. She received her 1st cochlear implant 12/24 & will have surgery soon to do the other ear. Thought I'd share her sweet post from today! ❤️

Hallelujah, my mini-me is FINALLY cleared for cochlear implant surgery!! The past 5 months have included 2 ambulance rides, 18 ER/hospital visits, 2 spine surgeries, 4 spinal taps, subconjunctival hemorrhaging in BOTH eyes, a PICC line, VP shunt surgery for IIH, DOUBLE pneumonia

Hey @UTSWMedCenter @JennyDoren My poor daughter has been waiting for 3 days now for a team to do a lumbar puncture and they can't get it scheduled. She's stuck in an isolation room until then. We have begged to get this done to find out if cranial pressure is affecting her eyes!
