In this moment, the Holy Spirit did what mere words could not—He applied the gospel’s message like a balm to the souls of the gospel’s hearers. https://t.co/M3qdqrtRbC
In this excerpt of The Hope of the Resurrection, author Patrick Schreiner shows how the resurrection of Jesus provided the church concrete hope for the Christian and the church community. https://t.co/KZvig77WXM
Last summer I stood with the waves of the Mediterranean Sea splashing on my feet, and I picked up stones—not just any stones; I grabbed a sack full of shiny white ones.🧵
Our church had sent us on a mission trip to Turkey, but we made a quick stop in Greece beforehand, spending a few days seeing the ruins in places where Paul preached the gospel.
In short, because Jesus lives, everything matters. And because he lives, I will one day feel his warm embrace and hear his merciful “well done.” https://t.co/BkujotJQV9
The Ascension does not remove us from the long middle of discipleship. It anchors us within it, giving us hope, assuring us that above every weary step there is a reigning Christ, and from his throne flows grace enough to carry us all the way home. https://t.co/pAbjJmG5KS
“Develop your leaders . . . or die.”
God doesn’t want you to plant a church that “needs” its pastor all the time, a church where every answer to every question comes through the church planter. Instead, church planters must develop a community of leaders. But how?🧵
How do you develop leaders while preparing sermons, fundraising, and and finding a new place to meet because you just learned your current meeting location got rented to someone else?
We started talking about All Creatures Great and Small over coffee. Not in a “let’s analyze this” way, but more like: Why does this show make me feel calmer? Why does it linger after the credits roll? My friend said it felt like a warm cup of tea while visiting her grandparents🧵
And I heard myself say, almost without thinking, “It’s because the show believes small things matter.”
And that instinct, I think, resonates with something deeply Christian. Scripture rarely unfolds through spectacular moments alone.
An article I wrote: “Running and the Pastorate”. I really appreciate @GCDiscipleship publishing it. They do great work!
“His providential guidance is as much in the mundane and ordinary as it is in the spectacular.”

May we learn to share not only in his glory but in his heart of abundant generosity and selflessness, and with a whole heart, do the good and glorious works which he has prepared for us beforehand. https://t.co/9YFonH9sDd
In this excerpt of The Way of Repentance, author Chris Brauns shows readers how the repentance on display in the Parable of the Prodigal Son is so wonderful becasue it reveals to us the heart of the Father. https://t.co/m2nbJdEYhP
Don’t freak out.
That’s what I wish someone had told me when I was a new Christian and was first realizing that every believer’s role in making disciples also meant I had a role in making disciples. It’s not like this was a big secret, of course.🧵
After all, Jesus commanded his followers to teach others to “observe all things” he had commanded (Matt. 28:20 NKJV)—to make disciples. But when it hit home, it just felt like a lot. I didn’t know where to start. And what could a new believer like me offer others anyway?
