@johnrabe After watching Gray last year, an inning gets away from him quickly and with it being the 7th inning and a RP ready, it didn't make much sense to me to leave him in.
@stlsportscntrl They could have easily traded prospects for Fedde and kept Edman but ownership acted like they had to offload some payroll to cover Fedde’s contract. Edman still has issues batting LH but for his salary and versatility his value will be missed.
@AugieNash It’s not the best stat but I hate people that completely dismiss it like it’s not important. Cardinals have led the league in runners LOB each of the past two years because their inability to get hits with RISP.
It’s a major shame the St. Louis Cardinals act like they can either spend money on the major league team or on development in the minors when they could easily do both.
@kyler416 I voted disappointing but was in between. So I'd be pleased but also not match the hype. It would still be a solid career, but us fans are desperate for a top of the rotation arm. Garcia was injured quite a bit as well so hopefully Mathews would be more dependable health wise.
Curious to hear the reasoning for Oli going with Romero there. 2 of the first 3 batters were right handed hitters that hit very well vs LHP compared to RHP. Kittridge did a hell of a job to keep it tied.

St. Louis traded three remaining years of Dylan Carlson for roughly 3 1/2 weeks of Shawn Armstrong.
Trading Carlson was necessary (for both parties!) but this is not a great look.
