Potterfield Village, Moss Rd
The Whins of Potterfield was a hamlet which stood at the junction of Haggs Road and Whins Road. At one time its inhabitants were miners who worked at the nearby Lochinch pit. c.1900

Casino Cinema, 149-155 Castle St, 1962
A E Pickard opened the Casino Cinema in Townhead in 1911. It was sold to Glasgow Casino Ltd in 1924 and continued until 1960s. It was a bingo club until its closure in 1968. Archive Ref: D-PL 2/1/416
